(Oakland, CA) Clorox's award-winning internal design department is seeking a talented Web graphic designer to join its team. This is a contractor position on-site in downtown Oakland.
We are seeking someone who has a passion for outstanding design and loves to find innovative ways to build their designs using standards-compliant XHTML and CSS. You will design Web sites, ad banners, HTML newsletters and more in a fun atmosphere with talented professionals who thrive on teamwork.
Clorox has over 35 brands, so you will be able to apply your experience across many categories: laundry, cleaning, automotive, water filtration, cat litter, food, personal products and more. Your responsibilities will be varied to keep things interesting, and work hours will rarely be long.
Required Skills:
Strong design skills using Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator
Thorough understanding of designing for the Web
The ability to think through user experience and build easy-to-use user interfaces
Expert XHTML and CSS hand-coding skills, must be able to hand-code to Web standards, separating content from style (tableless coding is a must)
Experience developing for modern browsers and degrading sites gracefully for older ones
Flash experience preferred but not required
Working knowledge of Javascript and PHP a bonus
Mac-based designer preferred
